INSPIRATION
I am inspired by the film itself. It’s a joy to explore the subtle dynamics of each scene, and bring out the heart of the films story, through music.
I am inspired by the Director/Producer. My job is to listen to their artistic visions, and do my best to bring them to fruition.
I am inspired by composers and film composers, like Ravel, Holst, Beethoven, Miklós Rózsa, John Williams, Alan Sylvestri, Jerry Goldsmith, Mark Mancina, Thomas Newman, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto (TheRevenant), and Pat Metheny.
EDUCATION
Since learning accordion at a young age, to picking up the trumpet and guitar in various high school concert and jazz bands, I’ve enjoyed creating and performing music. I finished a Bachelor of Musc degree at Ambrose University, with a focus in jazz guitar. I was fortunate enough to learn from some of the most respectable musicians in Calgary AB, Canada.
I also completed a specialist certificate in Music for Film and TV through Berklee College of Music’s Online Extension school, through which I studied orchestration and composing to film.
